Officers had reason to believe people in vehicle were armed.

At the request of the Belmont Police Department, officers with the San Bruno Police Department drew their weapons as they approached a vehicle during a morning traffic stop.

According to San Bruno Police Chief Neil Telford, for the safety of police as well as citizens, officers will approach a vehicle with drawn weapons if they have reason to believe the vehicle’s occupants are armed.
