Orion elementary school is way up above Alameda. Mezes Park is down near 101. How could this incident have happened near both?

The gunshots were heard near 700 Whipple, and then suspects were seen fleeing the area and running toward Mezes Park. As a precaution while they locked down the area and searched for the suspects, people at Orion were asked to remain indoors. Hope that helps clarify things. We plotted the 3 points on the map along the right side of the article above as well, to help visualize it.

Orion is no longer in the location off of Fernside. Adelante is now there. Orion is down near Mezes park. I think in the former district location.

The police felt it was close enough to Orion to ask people on or near that campus to stay indoors while they searched for the suspects.
