Police Blotter 2/21 - 2/24: Kitchen Fire, Noisy Scooter, Cars Egged

Monday, Feb. 21, 2011

4:44 a.m. - Fire - A trash can caught fire next to a gas main on Hiller Street. Firefighters controlled the flames before they spread out of control.

8:54 a.m. - Theft - Six cartons of cigarettes were stolen on El Camino Real.

9:19 p.m. - Fire - Residents reported seeing smoke in their house on Hiller Street. Turns out the , forcing the two residents to evacuate. No one was hurt.

9:53 p.m. - Fire - Firefighters scooted over to Fifth Avenue near F Street where a small kitchen fire was reported. The flames were quickly extinguished.

1:56 a.m. - Noise Complaint - Someone was riding up and down Hallmark Drive on a scooter with a loud exhaust.

9:51 a.m. - Theft from a Vehicle - A GPS unit and iPod were stolen from a victim's unlocked gray 2010 Nissan Altima while it was parked on Crestview Drive.

8:51 a.m. - Vandalism - A victim called police to say someone had egged his two cars three days in a row on Arbor Avenue.

Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011

10:03 a.m. - Theft - Tools were stolen sometime overnight from a dark green 1996 Saab on Continentals Way.

11:20 a.m. - Animal Call - Police were called out to Old County Road for a dispute over an off-leash dog.

8:38 p.m. - Hazardous Situation - Wires came down near a tree in the 100 block of Middle Road. Police determined the area was safe.

8:52 p.m. - Stolen Vehicle - Someone reported a white and red Honda that was at his home when he left for work in the morning, but wasn't there when he got home.
