Phone Number Established for Crash Info; Blood Donors Needed

All but one Asiana Airlines flight 214 passengers accounted for; 181 hospitalized.

Asiana Airlines has established a telephone number for inquiries regarding the crash of flight #214 at SFO. In the U.S.: 1-800-227-4262. And as officials continue sorting out the details surrounding today’s crash, those wishing to help are asked to donate blood.

According to a statement issued by the airline this evening, of the passegers onboard flight 214, 77 were Korean, 141 Chinese, 61 US citizens.

Based on numbers provided by the San Francisco Fire Dept. and regional hospital officials, two people died and at least 181 others were taken to area hospitals.

According to KCBS.com, the wounded have been taken to hospitals nine hospitals across San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Others suffering more were treated at the airport.

Victims who were transported to hospitals are suffering from broken bones and internal injuries.

The Bay Area Red Cross tweeted that with so many injured in the crash and taken to local hospitals, the blood donors will be needed.

San Francisco General Hospital had received 34 patients from the crash as of 5 p.m., including 11 children and 23 adults, according to hospital spokeswoman Rachel Kagan.  "We are putting into practice our disaster training and we are capable of taking care of these people today," Kagan said.
