Man Fatally Struck by Caltrain in San Mateo

The incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m.

A man was struck and killed by a train on Caltrain tracks in San Mateo late this afternoon, an agency spokeswoman said.

The incident occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on the tracks near the San Mateo station, Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.

The train involved, No. 362, was stopped near the San Mateo station as of 5:04 p.m. Passengers should expect significant delays.

Train No. 362 was an express Baby Bullet train that left San Francisco at 4:09 p.m. It stopped at the Millbrae station at 4:25 p.m. and was not scheduled to stop at Burlingame or San Mateo.
