Motorcycle Chase Through San Carlos Ends in Burglar’s Arrest

A deputy sheriff arrested a suspected burglar Saturday evening after a motorcycle chase through a neighborhood in San Carlos.

At 6:41 p.m., the deputy recognized suspect Aaron Tadday, 43, of San Carlos, who was recently arrested for in Redwood City and San Carlos. Tadday was out of custody on bail, and awaiting trial for those felony crimes.

After spotting Tadday riding a motorcycle without the required helmet, the deputy turned his patrol vehicle around and attempted to catch up to the motorcycle to stop him. He turned on his emergency lights and siren, but Tadday refused to stop.

Tadday continued to flee eastbound from the 2100 block of Eaton Avenue to the 200 block of Kelton Avenue. The man even rode on the sidewalk to evade capture. The deputy saw Tadday throw an object underneath a parked vehicle then accelerate to speeds of 40 mph.

Tadday eventually stopped his motorcycle in the driveway of his residence at 615 Park Avenue.

The deputy had to physically remove Tadday from his motorcycle while the man was violently resisting arrest.

Numerous sheriff’s deputies from the South County region responded to assist in the arrest and search the area for the thrown object, which was identified as a glass smoking pipe.

Tadday was arrested and charged with the following new offenses: felony evading, commission of a felony while on bail, driving with a suspended driver’s license, reckless driving, destruction of evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.  Tadday was transported and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility.

The suspect’s father, Douglass Duke Tadday, 69, was also arrested for Interfering with a peace officer while in the performance of his or her Duties.  Douglass Tadday was also transported and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility.
