Mexican Navy Suspends Search for Missing Fishermen

Two of the men still missing are cousins of Belmont resident Michael Ng.

The Mexican Navy suspended its search on Wednesday for the seven men who remain missing since a chartered fishing boat sank in the Sea of Cortez off Mexico on July 3, according to the Associated Press.

Two of the missing men, Don Lee and Albert Mein, are cousins of Belmont resident , who was also on the boat but managed to survive by clinging to a cooler and swimming for 16 hours before a Mexican fishing boat plucked him from the waters.

The website FindOurFathers.com, run by the family and friends of the seven missing men from the "Erik," list the following men as those still missing:

On Tuesday, the U.S. Coast Guard suspended aerial searches, in which a C-130 Hercules aircrew had covered an 803-square-mile area off the Baja California coast, according to the AP.

So far, 35 men have been rescued, and one man -- Leslie Yee -- has been confirmed dead.
