Meet 'Kilo,' Belmont's New K-9 Officer

Kilo and his partner/handler Officer Dan Friedman are currently working the night shift, but will also be available for K-9 demos and visits to school and city events.

He's working the night shift, so you may not have had the pleasure of making his acquaintance yet, but rest assured, the City of Belmont is in good hands (paws) with its newest member of the Belmont Police Department.

"Kilo" the German shepherd K-9 officer is partner to Officer Dan Friedman. Officer Friedman and Kilo have been training together for the past month, and on Dec. 1, the duo officially hit the streets of Belmont.

Friedman and Kilo will be working the night shift to start, but will also be available for K-9 demonstrations at future City functions and at Belmont schools. Kilo is replacing Nitro, a community favorite, who retired after many years of service to the City of Belmont
