Man Injured in Bike-Vehicle Crash on Ralston Avenue

Witnesses say the bike crossed westbound traffic lanes and collided with a Toyota SUV.

A 59-year-old Foster City man was injured Wednesday morning when his bicycle collided with an SUV in the 400 block of Ralston Avenue. 

According to Capt. Pat Halleran of the Belmont Police Dept., police and fire units responded to a traffic collision involving a the bike and the SUV Wednesday at about 8:50 a.m. 

Halleran said the bicyclist was treated at the scene by Belmont Fire Department paramedics and was transported to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, but according to witnesses, the bicyclist was traveling westbound on Ralston Avenue near the curb, when he crossed the westbound traffic lanes and collided with the side of a Toyota SUV that was westbound in the fast lane of Ralston Avenue.
