Armando Lopez-Galvez was held to answer on multiple charges, including child molestation, at his preliminary hearing Friday.

A man accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old Belmont girl has been held to answer in San Mateo County Superior Court on five felony charges.

One prosecution witness testified at the preliminary hearing on Friday for Armando Lopez-Galvez, a Redwood City resident who spent his 22nd birthday in jail due to his alleged crimes.

Prosecutors say Lopez-Galvez engaged in a sexual relationship with the teenage Belmont girl after meeting her online.

School officials discovered their relationship after witnessing the girl log onto Facebook and online dating websites while at school, the district attorney's office reported.
