A San Francisco man accused of harassing and attempting lewd acts on two 14-year-old girls in Millbrae in 2013 was found guilty in San Mateo County Superior Court Thursday on six felony counts, according to the district attorney's office.

Prosecutors said on Dec. 16, Marlon Monton, 28, was driving a black SUV when he approached the girls and attempted to give them his phone number and a note saying he wanted them to "hook me up" as they walked home from Taylor Middle School.

After he drove off, the girls told the school principal, who called police.

Monton was arrested on Dec. 18 after an undercover operation in which a law enforcement official engaged him in a conversation via a text message and purported to be a 13-year-old-girl.

A meeting was arranged and Monton agreed to bring beer and marijuana and meet in Kohl's parking lot after school. Sheriff's deputies arrested him when he arrived in the parking lot.

The jury found Monton guilty on six felony counts, including attempted lewd act on a child, felony communication with a child under 15, and felony arranging and going to a meeting place for the purpose of engaging in a lewd act with a minor, according to the district attorney's office.

Monton's sentencing hearing is scheduled for Sept. 5 at 9 a.m. He remains in custody on $500,000 bail.
