Flood Warning Issued Saturday Night for Homeview, Sterling Downs Neighborhoods

A water pipe that burst combined with the rain prompted the flood warning.

UPDATE 10:43 a.m., Sunday: The flood warning is over and there were no reports of flooding due to the burst water pipe.

UPDATE 6:45 p.m., Saturday: The has issued a flood warning for the Homeview and Sterling Downs neighborhoods tonight after a water pipe burst in the area.

The pipe burst sometime this afternoon and could affect both water lines and sewer lines, police said. The rainy weather is also a factor in the flood warning.

The South Bayside System Authority is reportedly repairing the line.

Sandbags are available for residents at three locations; the Police Department, where police are filling the bags for residents; and at Barrett Community Center and the Belmont Corporation Yard at 110 Sem Lane, where residents must fill the sandbags themselves.
