Fire Station 15 to Remain Open During Remodel

The fire station improvement project will begin Tuesday.

Repairs and improvements to Fire Station 15 (Cipriani Boulevard and Ralston Avenue), will begin this week, and city officials say the station will remain fully operational during the entire project.

According to the Belmont City Manager's Weekly Update newsletter, the city met last week with Omni Construction Services, the project contractor, to discuss specific details such as the placement of the fire engine, and staging of construction materials.

Construction is scheduled to commence Tuesday, July 23 and will require 60 business days to complete.

The initial steps will include mobilization, selective demolition, and the creation of a barricade for security and to limit dust within the apparatus room.

Improvements to the fire station will include replacing kitchen countertops, remodeling bathrooms, and removing an interior wall that divides the station's exercise are and hallway.

Patch will provide updates on the project as it progresses over the next two months.
