Extreme Fire Weather Blankets San Mateo County

Those who engage in outdoor activities, including mowing, barbecuing and construction, should be on high alert for a fire.

—Written by Laura Dudnick

San Mateo County residents are urged to use caution outdoors as extreme fire weather has blanketed the region.

The request from emergency officials follows a number of weekend wildland fires in the Bay Area, including a 41-acre blaze Saturday on San Bruno Mountain that sent smoke billowing into the air for miles.

Those who engage in outdoor activities, including mowing, barbecuing and construction, should be on high alert for a fire.
