Early Morning Quake Shakes the Bay Area

Centered in Berkeley, the 3.6 earthquake struck at 5:36 a.m.

A 3.6-magnitude earthquake centered in Berkeley shook the Bay Area
this morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was recorded at 5:36 a.m. 2 miles east of Berkeley with
a depth of about 6 miles, according to the USGS.

The temblor was felt in Berkeley, Alameda and throughout San
Francisco.

"It was kind of a strong jolt," an employee at Au Coquelet Cafe
Restaurant in downtown Berkeley said minutes after the quake.
