Driver Crashes Through Front of Belmont Dry Cleaner

Police say the driver inadvertently hit the gas instead of the brake; no one was injured in the crash.

A 26-year-old San Mateo crashed his car into the front of Holiday Cleaners in Belmont Thursday night, according to Capt. Pat Halleran of the Belmont Police Department.

Halleran says that it appears the driver inadvertently hit the gas instead of the brake, sending him crashing through the front of the business located in the Ralston Plaza Shopping Center in the 800 block of Ralston Avenue.

Police and fire units responded to the crash, which happened at about 8:40 p.m. Upon arrival officers found a Toyota Camry sedan had driven through the front windows of Holiday Cleaners, which was closed at the time.
