Daytime Burglaries Plague Foster City

Four separate residential burglaries occurred in the city on Friday.

 

Computers, jewelry and cash were among the items stolen in four separate residential burglaries in Foster City on Friday, police said.

The break-ins occurred during broad daylight while the residents were away from their homes, police said.

Police believe the intruders used a pry tool to manipulate the locks at all four homes.

Three of the burglaries occurred in the Marina Point complex near Foster City and Beach Park boulevards. Among the items reported stolen were laptops and jewelry, police said.

The fourth break-in, which occurred on Lurline Drive, was reported at 4:46 p.m.

The residents told police that two laptops, an iPod Touch and miscellaneous precious-metal jewelry valued at $100,000 had been stolen from the home, police said.

Police are advising residents to install deadbolt locks on exterior doors and close and lock windows.
