Cuteness Alert: Belmont Firefighters Rescue Tiny Fawn

The baby deer was trapped in a San Carlos backyard.

Belmont Firefighters were called into San Carlos Thursday afternoon to rescue a fawn that was trapped in the backyard of a home.

The tiny deer was trapped between the wall of the home and a fence post.  It took firefighters about 15 minutes to free the little creature.

After being checked out at the scene by San Mateo County Animal Rescue & Control, the fawn was released.

The firefighters don't mention the mama deer, but we imagine she was keeping a close eye on proceedings.
