Cell Phone Store Robbers Elude Police

Suspects robbed two cell phone stores in Redwood City Thursday night.

 

A Redwood City cellphone store was robbed by two suspects who eluded capture Thursday night, police said.

Two male suspects entered the Sprint cellphone store at 1517 El Camino Real and told the clerks they were robbing the store, police said. The robbery was reported at 9:12 p.m. The clerks were forced to give up store merchandise and cash to the robbers, who then fled the area on foot north on El Camino Real.

Police believed the suspects may have escaped in a waiting getaway car. The suspects were both described as black males whose ages were unknown. The first suspect was about 6 feet 2 inches and weighed approximately 190 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a gray vest and jeans, police said.

The second suspect was shorter at around 5 feet 8 inches with a medium build. He was seen wearing dark clothing, according to police. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Redwood City police at (650) 780-7100.
