Car Crashes into Children's Art Studio in Belmont

The art studio on El Camino Real was not opened at the time of the crash; no one in the building was injured.

 

The Belmont Police Department has reported that a 56-year old Fremont woman drove her car through the front window of the Yee Studio at approximately 8:30 a.m. Friday. Yee Studio is a children's art studio business located at 926 Ralston Avenue. 

The business was not open at the time of the collision, and no injuries were reported inside the building.

Police and fire units from Belmont, San Carlos and Foster City fire departments responded to a report of a vehicle that had driven into a business at 926 Ralston Ave.  Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a 1999 Lexus sedan had driven thorough the front window of the business.

According to police, the driver, was attempting to park in the rear lot of the adjacent US Bank, but proceeded forward over a curb, across a driveway and through the front widow of the business.  The vehicle came to a stop inside the building after impacting the back wall of the structure.

The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital by paramedics.  No one else was injured in the collision.

The building sustained major damage and will be boarded up, pending repairs.  The cause of the collision is under investigation.
