Caltrain Parking Fees Increase

Funds raised by higher parking fees will be used to help cover train operation maintenance costs.

Parking fees at Caltrain stations go up this month to $5 a day and $50 a month.

The increase, which started Sunday, was approved as part of the 2014 operating budget and will help cover the increasing cost of maintaining parking lots, Caltrain officials said.

Growth in ridership in recent years has increased demand for parking at stations. Riders are encouraged to use transit options such as Samtrans and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, which serves all Caltrain stations.
