Boy Injured After Fall from Window in San Mateo

The incident occurred Thursday afternoon on 38th Avenue in San Mateo.

A young boy sustained “potentially life threatening” injuries after taking a fall from the high window of a residence on 38th Avenue in San Mateo, police said.

The 17-month-old boy fell on Thursday afternoon from a window about 12 or 14 feet off the ground, according to San Mateo police spokesman Sgt. Dave Norris.

“He was conscious upon arrival of police/medics and was immediately transported to the nearest trauma center,” Norris said.

He added that the incident appears to be accidental and there is no evidence of foul play.

Little more was known about the incident, and the child’s status was not immediately available.
