Belmont Police Blotter: DUI Hit and Run, Tattooed Minor

Monday, Feb. 6, 2012

12:23am  Hit and Run No Injury  A truck hit parked cars on North Road and fled the scene. (The driver was later arrested in San Mateo, click here for related story.)

12:38am  Disturbance  A person riding in a cab on El Camino Real at Ralston Avenue refused to pay cab driver.

1:26pm  Driving Under the Influence  A Redwood City man was arrested for driving under the influence following a hit and run collision on North Rd. (See related story here)

12:30pm  Assist Other Agency  A woman went to the Belmont Police Department lobby and reported that her car was stolen in San Francisco the night before at the intersection of Ingalls and Fitzgerald streets.

1:10pm  Suspicious Circumstances  The reporting party was concerned because mail was stacking up at a residence on Adelaide Way.

3:22pm  Fire Department Call--Smoke/Odor Investigation  A strong smell of natural gas was coming from the basement of a building on Carlmont Drive.

6:10pm  Suspicious Circumstances  A foster parent reported that an unknown person gave her 14-year-old foster daughter a tattoo on Alameda de las Pulgas.

7:06pm  Found Property  A person found a driver license and credit cards in bushes along South Road.

Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012

1:29am  Suspicious Person  A person was banging on a door on Carlmont Drive and yelling to open it.

9:53am  Animal Call  Two small dogs were running around the area on Talbryn Drive.

2:43pm  Welfare Check  A juvenile on Treasure Island Drive was reported to be sick, and the reporting party requested a welfare check by police because the other parent was not letting the reporting party see the son; a restraining order was in effect. 

4:56pm  Hazardous Situation  Paint was going into the gutter on Folger Drive.

5:32pm  Suspicious Person  Two men were going door to door on Hiller Street claiming to be new to the area and wanted to get to know their neighbors. The reporting party was concerned that they were really there casing the area.

6:58pm  Theft  A wallet was reported stolen on Ralston Avenue. 

Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012

3:51pm  Disturbance  Students were being threatened on Alameda de las Pulgas, and the subject in question was reported to be outside on the playground.

6:49pm  Suspicious Circumstances  A woman on Lake Road believes her tires were slashed; she stated that she was having problems with a neighbor prior to the tire slashing.

7:50pm  Drug Offense  A woman was smoking marijuana on her patio.

9:05pm  Citizen Assist  A woman reported that she had been approached by her ex-boyfriend earlier in the day and she felt threatened.

10:26pm  Warrant Service/Attempt  While on routine patrol, an officer made contact with a parolee at large. The man was arrested on an outstanding warrant and booked into county jail.

Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012

10:09am  Non Injury Accident  The reporting party witnessed hit and run accident and had the victim and the suspects with him in the Belmont Library. The suspect hit the victim's vehicle several times.

2:02pm  Unwanted Subject  A woman in her 20s wearing a gray sweatshirt was panhandling on El Camino Real.

4:43pm  Reckless Driver Complaint  The reporting party was following a dark gray Ford F150 from Highway 101 to Masonic Way and Hiller Street. The Ford, driven by a woman, was weaving and the reported party thought she was probably driving under the influence. 

7:34pm  Suspicious Person  A man light a large build and long hair in a pony tail was drinking beer and hiding near a bush and a flag pole on El Camino Real.
