Belmont Man Arrested for Pulling Knife on Father

The father and son were reportedly arguing when the son threatened the father with a large kitchen knife.

A 22-year-old Belmont man was arrested early Saturday morning after threatening his father with a knife.

According to Capt. Pat Halleran of the Belmont Police Department, officers responded to a 9-1-1 domestic disturbance call at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at a home in the 200 block of Hiller Street. 

Upon arrival, officers found that Donald Ray Williams Jr., age 22, had been involved in an argument with his father.

Police say that during the argument, Williams threatened his father with a large kitchen knife. 

Williams, who had been drinking, was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the San Mateo County Jail in Redwood City for assault with a deadly weapon. His father was not injured.
