Belmont Jewelry Store Burglarized

As part of their investigation, police are seeking witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity in the area.

Belmont Police responded to a burglar alarm at a jewelry store in the 1000 Block of El Camino Real on Sunday, Oct. 27. Officers arrived within two minutes and found that the front door of the store had been forced open and one of the display cases was shattered.

Officers conducted a search of the business and surrounding area, but did not locate any suspects. During the on-scene investigation, officers determined that someone had apparently also attempted to enter a neighboring hair salon, but was unsuccessful.

Police on Monday, Oct. 27 said it appears that some jewelry was taken, but no specific details about the loss are yet available.
