Belmont Bank Robbed Tuesday Morning

The Belmont Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred Tuesday morning at the US Bank in the 900 block of Ralston Avenue.

Police say the robbery was reported shortly before noon. Upon arrival, officers found that the suspect had fled.

According to witnesses, the suspect entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded money. No weapon was seen and there were no injuries. At this time the loss is undetermined. 

The suspect was last seen exiting the bank onto Ralston Avenue.

Bank employees described the suspect as a white male adult, between 25-35 years of age, 5’ 9” to 6’ 0” tall, medium build, clean shaven.  He was wearing an orange beanie type cap and a dark gray or black winter coat. 

Shortly after the robbery, a silver sedan was seen traveling at a high rate of speed, southbound on Sixth Avene from Hill Street, in the area of the bank. It is unknown if this vehicle is connected to the robbery.
