Belmont police arrested a 31-year old man walking along Ralston Avenue on Wednesday, who they say is a suspect in a robbery that took place in Redwood City.

According to Redwood City police records, Carmen Joseph Polito, 31, went to the Provident Credit Union in the 200 block of Redwood Shores Parkway at about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Police say he went to a bank teller and handed the person behind the counter a note that demanded money. The teller gave him the cash that was in the drawer.  Polito is said to have repeated this action and collected more cash at a second teller at the same bank, according to Redwood City police records. This time, he demanded the money verbally, according to police.
