The Great Escape: Mimosas

This week, treat yourself to some midday mimosas.

Brunch is a great way to start a weekend day and the ideal brunch includes a classic, tasty mimosa. The combination of freshly-squeezed orange juice and sparkling wine makes for the perfect morning cocktail.

There are several local joints that offer the delicious bubbly drink.

The popular restaurant (716 Laurel St, San Carlos) recently added a weekend brunch to its serving options. Endless refills of mimosas are offered between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., with the purchase of an entree.

On Sunday mornings, (2048 Broadway St, Redwood City) serves bottomless mimosas as well, with any breakfast plate. The lounge features a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

Fresh mimosas are also available at  (1010 El Camino Real, Menlo Park), which serves a wide selection of brunch options, from eggs to waffles.

Finally, (390 El Camino Real, Belmont) offers two flavors of mimosas: Orange and pomegranate.

Grab your girlfriends and give a little boost to your weekend.

Best new discovery is the scones at The Station Cafe on Old County in San Carlos, across from the train station. They are incredible! Whispers is great any day of the week, even if you don't want a mimosa. The patio on a nice day is wonderful.
