PATCH LAYOFFS OF GREAT PEOPLE

I guess the hammer dropped for Joan and others.

Joan Dentler was the BEST when 'A$$igned" to Belmont (Calif) Patch. I told Joan that WE HERE on the Peninsula  *SUPPORT*  her.

Patch Corporate should have had a Peninsula_Patch vs. each separate town trying to survive (Duh). I can't believe Patch Corporate (just) made a conference call and then BOOM - everybody had an abrupt exit and  Joan and others didn't have an opportunity to post a farewell message on the site as within minutes of those laid off getting the call they had their editing privileges revoked and their Patch emails were shut off. Joan ‘told me’  "it was a privilege to work with the people of Belmont and Redwood City to tell the stories of life in our small part of the world---both the good and the bad...."
