Classic 101 Burgers Owner Moving On
The owner of one of Belmont's most popular burger and ice cream joints has sold the business to the owner of a doughnut shop (not Chuck's).
For some of us, it will always be that ultra-efficient, spanking-clean, ice cream and burger oasis with a huge menu and a friendly staff. The location on Ralston Avenue is perfect--just before Hwy. 101, and the Belmont Sports Complex. It's the cure for what ails you--comfort food for a Saturday afternoon, or an ice cream celebration after a hard-fought soccer match or baseball game.
When it changed it's name to a few years ago, we understood the switch, but still referred to it by its original beloved name.
But now, sadly, owner is departing his restaurant after 12 years of superb management and excellent service. Without going into details, Sung Boo Yoo said he is ready for a new venture and has sold his business to a person who owns several doughnut shops (not next door).

Sung Boo Yoo, a San Mateo resident, acknowledged his many loyal customers and his success on Ralston Avenue, but says it's time for new opportunities.
