FLY Friend-Raiser Oct. 21

Fresh Lifelines for Youth (FLY) of San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, is dedicated to breaking the cycle of violence, crime and incarceration of teens, ages 12 -18.

On Oct. 21, FLY and The Jack Aces, a Belmont-based rock band, will hold a Friend-Raiser Benefit at  in San Carlos.

Working with judges, probation officers, district attorneys and school administrators, FLY helps youth choose positive alternatives and take definitive steps toward creating a better future for themselves and their communities.

Programs in legal education, leadership training and one-on-one mentoring inspire and empower nearly 2,000 FLY youth annually to alter the trajectory of their lives.

The focus of the event is to raise awareness of the services FLY provides to the community's youth. The event will features live music, dancing, food and award-winning Domenico wines.

"As FLY embarks on our next decade, we want to thank our San Mateo County supporters for their investment over the last five years and invite new friends to learn about and celebrate the impact we are having on these at-risk youth and in our community. What better way to introduce and/or re-connect our FLY family and friends then at Domenico Winery in San Carlos,” said FLY’s executive director, Christa Gannon.
