Divine Transformation: Church Converts to Rummage Sale Locale

The Congregational Church of Belmont will host its annual rummage sale Aug. 3-4.

Although Jesus won't necessarily be asked to leave the building, he and his cohorts at the will be asked to slide over a bit Aug. 3-4 to make room for a .

During the church's , organizers say virtually every foot of the two-story house of worship will be utilized for the sale.

Traditionally, , the event at 751 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont, will start Friday, Aug. 3, when guests will pay $10 to be the first to see and perhaps buy the merchandise.

Those who take part in the paid pre-sale will receive a $5 coupon good for any purchase. The main sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday with a $2 bag sale from 3-4 p.m.  

Rummage sale merchandise will include kitchenware and appliances, books, clothing, children’s clothing and equipment, toys, electronics, furniture, linen, jewelry and art.  A special section will be devoted to new Tupperware products at reduced prices.   Refreshments will be sold in the Dining Room.
