Recology to Help Compost Christmas Trees

The San Mateo County recycling and garbage collection company is offering to help citizens compost their trees.

Trying to get rid of your Christmas tree?

Recology San Mateo County will help.

From now until Jan. 31, the garbage collection and recycling company wil collect your tree to be composted on regular collection day.

Recology asks that you remove all decorations and tree stands before putting your tree out next to your green Compost Cart to be collected.

Trees may be up to 8 feet in length, and flocked trees are accepted. If the tree is longer than 8 feet, the company asks San Carlans to cut the tree up before putting it out.
