Reel Life Goes On Film Fest: Stand By Me
Stand by Me is a 1986 American coming of age drama/comedy directed
by Rob Reiner. Based on the novella The Body by Stephen King, it
focuses on a group of boys who set about trying to solve a local murder case
with the intention of becoming local heroes. River Phoenix created one of his
most memorable roles--a misunderstood kid from the wrong side of the tracks.
Stand by Me was nominated for numerous Academy Awards and Golden Globe
Awards in 1986. The Reel Life Goes On: Coming-of-Age Movies to Melt Your
Heart Adult Film Festival is dedicated to giving deserving films a second
chance.
