Free Carlmont journalism workshop for 7th-9th graders

Carlmont journalism is hosting its first journalism workshop for 7th to

9th graders on May 17 from 9 to 1 pm. The workshop will introduce

students to the award winning journalism program at Carlmont. 

The participants will learn the basics of news writing and interviewing

from Carlmont journalists, the journalism advisor and teacher Justin

Raisner, and Angela Swartz of the San Mateo Daily Journal. 

Swartz covers education and city news for Burlingame, Millbrae,

South San Francisco and San Bruno. She also writes business

features for the San Francisco Chronicle and has worked for various

prominent technology blogs.
