A Tour of Recent Genetic Advances: A Slide Talk by Professor Tim Stearns

Tim Stearns is a professor of biology and genetics at Stanford University. He was named a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Professor in 2001, and received the Frank Lee and Carol Hall Endowed Professorship in 2009. In addition to his work on cell function and development, Stearns is also a major player in the national effort to revamp undergraduate biology education. His students work on real experiments with modern technology, and also learn something of the social, collaborative environment of the lab. Stearns will gear his talk on recent developments in genetics to the general public. Refreshments will be served.
