Emergency Preparedness Event for Kids

Sarah, a Senior at Carlmont High School, is hosting an emergency preparedness event at Nesbit Elementary School for school-aged kids. This is event is the final project for Sarah's Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award a Girl Scout can earn and equivalent to the Boy Scout Eagle Rank Award.

All are invited to come learn about what can be done to be prepared for an emergency or natural disaster. Children will be able to learn about what a "grab and go bag" is while they make a starter bag to take home. In addition, they will be able to talk to Belmont firefighters, police officers, and local EMTs about their jobs and their vehicles that will be on site. Parents are invited to stop by the Belmont CERT truck that will be on site to gather additional information from CERT volunteers.

Please stop by Nesbit this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to support a local Girl Scout!
