Shaffer will discuss her second book, 9
Realities of Caring for an Elderly Parent: A Love Story of a Different Kind.
Based on her experiences caring for her mother, the book is a funny,
compassionate account of what you can expect from your daunting role if you are
the adult child coming home to care for an elderly parent until the very end.
In addition to writing novels, Shaffer teaches English Language Arts to
seventh-graders. Light refreshments will be served, courtesy of the Friends of
the Belmont Library. A book selling and signing will take place after the
event, courtesy of Books Inc.
