Op-Ed: American Dream Fund Campaign Finance Form

The author, Jeff Selman, provides a PDF of California Form 410, regarding campaign financing.

"Under California campaign finance laws, committees are required to make filings and the California Secretary of State maintains a record of all such filings.

I spoke with the California Secretary of State a couple of months ago to inquire about the American Dream Fund. The online listing for the American Dream Fund at the California Secretary of State is here - http://cal-access.sos.ca.gov/Campaign/Committees/Detail.aspx?id=1359091. However, because the online listing does not give much information, I was given a PDF of the actual Form 410 Statement of Organization - Recipient Committee for the American Dream Fund filed with the California Secretary of State.

It was signed by Carol Ford as the Treasurer of the American Dream Fund on July 1, 2013, and bears a filing stamp from the California Secretary of State for the filing by the American Dream Fund of July 19, 2013. The Form 410 also states that this is the initial filing of the committee, that the committee is a County General Purpose Committee and that the jurisdiction in which it is active is San Mateo."
