Ralston Middle School Off Limits During Construction

Temporary fencing will surround the entire school, including the pedestrian sidewalk, until September 3.

[Editor's note: The following is a letter sent to Belmont and Redwood Shores residents by Blach Construction, regarding the construction project that will take place at Ralston Middle School this summer.]

Subject: Measure I Construction at Ralston Middle School from June 17 – September 3

Dear Residents:

In support of Bond Measure I, supported by the community, the District is moving forward with the next and final phase of construction at Ralston Middle School.  The scope of work will include renovations to the existing classrooms, new roofing, and access improvements.  Our plan is to mobilize fencing on June 17 and remove the fencing by September 3.  Due to the parking lot reconstruction, the temporary fencing will close off all access into the Ralston campus, including the parking lot and pedestrian access way.

We will be performing a significant amount of work in a very short time frame, and will do our best to perform all work between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.  On occasion, potential unforeseen conditions (such as weather) may require us to work extended hours or on weekends to ensure all construction activity is completed this year (thereby avoiding an additional phase next summer).  Your patience regarding working hours and construction activity will be instrumental in the success of the
project and is greatly appreciated.

I apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you.  I can assure you that we will perform this work in the most timely and safest manner possible.  Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me or any of the following:
