Power Restored in Belmont

Approximately 6,000 PG&E homes and businesses in Belmont were effected by the outage that started at 9:00 p.m.

Although there is still no explanation of why the outage occurred, by 10:20 p.m. Wed., power was back on to 6,000 PG&E customers in Belmont.

Thank you to Patch users for keeping us updated.

And, for those who missed it, the Giants beat the Rockies 7-1.

Joan, Go Giants. Kind of an interesting thing happened at our home last evening. Shortly after the power went out last night my wife and i went to bed, thinking that we had turned off all our lights and the TV. Earlier this morning, when I got up, I found out that we had apparently not turned off the TV off properly. As I walked into our living room I noted that our one (1) year old female Robo Hamster had been watching her favorite programs throughout the evening, as we rested in our upstairs bedroom. Her cage is right infront of our TV and she really likes certain TV programs, especially American Idle, So You Think You Can Dance, the X-Factor, and of course really enjoyes watching her favorite baseball team, the GIANTS. When I turned off the TV to take my wife to work, she quickly got into her nest, apparently very tired from watching TV from approximately 9:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., this morning.

I also preferred the 'old' Patch - this format makes it difficult to find articles that are aren't…Read More that old. One example was the informative article on who was running for city Council. I was having problems finding it and finally had to query on a candidate's name to find. I don't recall having that issue with the original format. Also our neighborhood had a water break line and we were without water for some hours a few Sundays ago. I tried to find out the reason for the break (because of construction or old pipes?) and could not find anything on the Patch regarding this. Not sure if they just didn't report or I just couldn't find.

Hi Don....thanks for your question. Yes, Off the Grid does pay a licensing fee to the city, and so…Read More far, we haven't heard any concerns by local restaurants. The food trucks provide an option to a traditional restaurant---pick up and go----and they are only around 4-5 hours per week (on Mondays, typically not a big restaurant night anyway). Have you tried the food yet?
