PG&E Changes Location for Monday Gas Venting to San Carlos

The work, originally scheduled for Belmont, will take place from 1-4 p.m. near Edgewood Rd. in San Carlos.

Update: Monday 11:00am

The location for the Monday afternoon venting of PG&E natural gas piplines will take place from 1-4 p.m. Mon., Oct. 1  at the Edgewood Valve Lot west of Interstate 280 and North of Edgewood Road, near San Carlos.

The work was originally scheduled to take place in Belmont at the Ralston Valve Lot. There will be no venting done in Belmont on Monday.

Monday 5:50am

As part of its Pipeline Safety Enhancement Program, PG&E will be venting natural gas Monday from a pipeline located just west of Belmont near the intersection of highways 280 and 92.

The process is similar to the gas venting that occurred last week causing some concern by residents as far away as San Carlos who heard the noise and smelled a strong odor of natural gas .

Depending on weather conditions, PG&E officials say the residents of Belmont and the surrounding area may smell natural gas. PG&E wants to assure the public that there is no danger to the
public and they are taking steps to mitigate noise and odor.

Members of the public with questions or concerns about the smell of gas, contact PG&E at 1-800-743-5000.

From no-proactive communication from the last venting which scared everyone into calling the PD, they stepped up to communicate this venting to the max. More is better in this case!

Yes, I agree Judi. However, now they've communicated that there will be no venting at all on Monday in Belmont. It will be done at the San Carlos location instead!
