Not One, but TWO BRSLL Teams Play for Championship Tonight

Facing elimination for the sixth consecutive game, the 11-year-olds were victorious over Pacifica Tuesday night.

Belmont-Redwood Shores Little League has turned out some pretty good all-star teams over the years---many charging all the way to district championships and beyond---but this year is special.
Not only are the BRSLL 11-year-old all stars playing for the championship Wednesday night, their elder counterparts, the 12-year-old all star team will also play for

On Tuesday night, the 11-year-old all stars beat Pacifica American 12-4. Because Belmont was playing in the losers' bracket, and Pacifica in the winners' bracket, each team now has one loss, meaning tonight's game will determine the District 52 winners.
Tuesday's game was the sixth consecutive elimination game that BRSLL faced, winning all six.  It was also the first time this Pacifica American team had lost a game in District 52 play as last year in the 9-10 tournament, they stormed through the tournament undefeated, before winning the Section 3 title and ultimately making it to the state championship game.

The winner-take-all championship game between the BRSLL 11-year-old allstars and Pacifica American is Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Kiwanis Field/Red Morton Park in Redwood City.

Meanwhile, the 12-year-old all star team will face Redwood City East for the championship on their home turf at the Belmont Sports Complex Marina Field Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Greg Snow, parent of a player on the 11-year-old team summed Belmont-Redwood Shores Little League's championship run, "It's pretty special that out of 16 leagues throughout District 52 that BRSLL would have teams in the championship game in two of the three allstar tournaments. And 10-year-olds made it all the way to the semi-finals so they did really well too."

Will you be at either of tonight's games? If so, send Belmont Patch your photos and we'll post them on Thursday!
