Little League Prez Scores Two Defibrillators

Having timely access to AEDs has been a primary factor in saving many lives across the country.

Former Belmont Redwood Shores Little League President (BRSLL) Mike Davies, has secured a grant to purchase two AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) with storage cabinets and signage to be installed at the Belmont Sports Complex (Marina and North Field).

According to the Belmont City Manager Greg Scoles' Weekly Update, Davies worked with Sequoia Health District (SHD) on the grant. In addition to the AEDs and storage cabinet, the SHD program includes ongoing maintenance, training and email-based check-up service on the devices.

BRSLL is designating the league's Safety Officer as the person responsible for ongoing training of their volunteers and stewardship. The city's parks crew will secure the storage cabinets and AED’s in the two designated locations at the site.

"This effort demonstrates the value of developing community based partnerships, and is a win-win for the local community, the sports enthusiasts, and the spectators who utilize the site," said Scoles in his Weekly Update.
