Patch Users Show & Tell How They (Safely) Viewed the Eclipse

Turns out the San Carlos Library's dome was one of the best places to witness the spectacular display.

Update: Monday 7:00am

[Editor's Note: Several Patch users were kind enough to upload their photos and tell us of their experiences viewing the eclipse.]

Ken Perkins said this about his viewing experience: "Joan, you should have been at the San Carlos Public Library for the eclipse. I've just uploaded some of my photos of the spectacular display inside the library dome."

And Denny Lawhern of Belmont used a 400mm lens to capture some amazing shots of the "ring of fire."

Sunday 8:00pm

Sunday's partial drew out many an amateur astronomer, including this editor.

With my cardboard, tin foil and safety pin, I headed up to the top of one of Belmont's hills with my assistant Nellie, and I was able to view the eclipse, which, as promised by the experts, was most visible at 6:33 p.m.

Upload your photos of the eclipse and tell us how you viewed this rare but very cool astronomical occurrence--the last took place 18 years ago.
