Program Offers New Approach to Dementia Care

The is offering a new series of classes for caregivers of those with dementia, and will host a free preview of Stress-Free Dementia Care program on Aug. 29 at the

According to program organizers, Presence Care is a more adaptive way of "being" for a person with dementia. This new, innovative training has been shown to help lessen the stress associated with dementia care and to substantially improve the quality of this care, for both professional and family caregivers.

Participants will be trained to understand the perspective of the person with dementia, and to use that understanding for more satisfying interactions.

The free preview will be held Wed., Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. at the Twin Pines Senior & Community Center, 20 Twin Pines Lane.
