Boy Crushed By Falling Tree Near Pescadero
The child was sleeping in a tent when the tree crashed down on him.
A 12-year-old boy sleeping in a tent was crushed by a falling tree, sending him to Stanford Hospital with critical injuries.
The child was camping with his extended family when the freak accident happened. Another boy was in the tent with him but was not seriously hurt. Other family members slept nearby.
The family was camping at Memorial Park, about seven miles east of Pescadero.
The 40-ft-tall fallen tree showed no outward signs that it was in danger of falling.
