Bike and Auto Collide on Ralston Avenue

The cyclist sustained minor injuries after colliding with an SUV.


A woman bicyclist was injured on Friday afternoon when she collided with an SUV in the 1400 block of Ralston Avenue.

Police say the cyclist, a 46-year-old Foster City woman, had been riding in the eastbound bicycle lane on Ralston Avenue at approximately 3:45 p.m. when she collided with an SUV hat was turning into a residential driveway from westbound Ralston Ave. 

The cyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was treated at the scene by Belmont Fire Department paramedics for non-life threatening injuries and was not transported to the hospital. The cause of the collision is under investigation. Traffic on Ralston Avenue was delayed for about 30 minutes.
