Belmont Summer Pavement Project: Is Your Street on the List?

This week's schedule includes installation of ADA compliant curb ramps, striping removal and pavement preparations.

According to Belmont City Manager Greg Scoles, work continues this week on the city’s pavement maintenance project.

In the latest edition of the City Manager's Weekly Update, Scoles says the paving contractor has completed asphalt grinding and pavement spot repair on the following streets:
• Adelaide Way (Christian Dr - Christian Dr)
• Dionne court (Skymont Dr - End of Cul de Sac)
• Fifth Ave (Broadway Blvd - El Camino Real)
• Lori Court (Lori Dr - End of Cul de Sac)
• Lori Dr (Marsten Ave - End of Cul de Sac)
• Robert Ave (Skymont Dr - Bishop Road)• Sixth Ave (Harbor Blvd - San Carlos City Limit)
• Skymont Court (Skymont Dr - End of Cul de Sac)
• Skymont Dr (Marsten Ave - Dead end)

This week’s schedule includes installation of ADA compliant curb ramps, striping removal and pavement preparations.

Application of the rubberized chip seal is tentatively scheduled in the week of July 25th. This will involve short-term street closures while the slurry dries. Crews will close the street in the morning when the pavement treatment is applied. The street remains closed for four to six hours until the slurry dries.

City officials say it is imperative that all vehicles, people, and pets are kept off the wet slurry. It takes a few weeks for the slurry to fully cure, and the street will be a bit sandy during this curing time.

Notices will be mailed or hand distributed to the effected residents 48 hours prior to chip seal and slurry seal applications.
