Belmont Seniors Give Thumbs Up to Lunch Program

What's on the menu for this week? How about a good ol' roasted turkey dinner complete with mashed potatoes, yams, cranberry salad, and of course, pie.

Thanks to a recent survey, one of Belmont's best-kept secrets is now out of the (lunch) box--the Twin Pines Cafe, located in the Twin Pines Senior and Community Center, serves lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. A local chef provides the healthy catered lunches, which are receiving rave reviews. 

The survey of participants Café’ shows that seniors are enjoying companionship, socializing and a pleasing meal in the Senior Lunch Program. 96 percent of the respondents rated the overall food as good to excellent. 

The lunch seating is at 11:30 a.m. and reservations are required at least two business days prior (seating is limited). A suggested donation of $4 for those 60 and over is collected at the door. Friends and family members are also invited; lunch is $8.50 for those under 60. 

The TPSCC is located at 20 Twin Pines Lane in Belmont. Transportation is available to Belmont residents on the for a suggested donation of $2.00 round-trip. Reservations are required for the shuttle; call 595-7444 to reserve a seat for lunch and/or for  shuttle. This event is co-sponsored by San Mateo County and is open to the public.
